Wild Child
You are the mild breeze The stormiest of seas You are imperfection Courageous through your deepest introspection You are the mess and the beauty inside You are the whole world and the soil of this Earth Wild, child Dance as the wind Love with your heart Embrace every sunrise, a new start and when the wild, child’s light casts a shadow love the darkness as a reflection of this light that melts into the night Because wild, child, shadow is nothing to fear Neither the tear on your cheek Words that you may feel unable to speak But wild, child, this does not make you weak Because closed eyes is how wild child sees and makes sense of reality You are the majesty of all creation Feel the elation of trusting your wild nature Of tasting who you are Every scar For the wild one does not crumble in a fall Nor does she try to stand tall Instead, simply embraces what emerges into a day Knowing she’ll never be led astray By the Life that beats her heart and helps her stand For wild, child is not bland Even with dirt under her nails Mud in her hands and on the soles of her feet Flowers in her hair Sitting in her hanging basket chair The wind a welcomed treat As she dances and takes her seat Beneath an ancient tree or surrenders into the ice cold waters of the winter’s sea To listen for what she’s there to receive For wild child only wants to be safe and free And the one called wild child, is the one I call me.
with love,
Emma
